3 Simple Steps to Transfer your Domain Name

Important! transfers of all .th domains to ThaiDomainHosting are free of charge, however the domain must have at least 10 days remaining on it’s current registration period. Once the transfer has been completed, a manual renewal will then be required to extend the domains current registration.

Step 1 – Update your DNS

This step should only be completed if you wish to point your domain to a ThaiDomainHosting hosting service

If your domain name registrar offers a domain management interface, you should login and make changes so your domain name points to our name servers.

How long will it take?

Transfers of .th domains take 48 hours to complete from the time you click on the link in the domain transfer initiation email. No changes can be made to your domain name whilst the domain transfer is in progress.

Global Domain Names

For transfers on all global domains please refer to the following

  • Please make sure your domain does not expire within the next 7 days. If it does, you will need to renew your domain name at the current registrar and then complete the transfer request below.
  • When the transfer process has begun, you will not be able to make any changes to your domain name until transfer is completed. Transfers usually take 4 -7 days to complete
  • The cost of the transfer is the same as the cost of new domain registration. However, the transfer will extend the registration of a domain name by 12 months of the current expiry date.
  • The invoice must be paid before the transfer can start.

Preparation to Transfer your Domain Name

Step 1

Turn off registrar lock at your current registrar. Domain lock prevents your domain name from being transferred to another registrar. It was designed to prevent domain hijackers. Most of the time, domain lock is off by default.

Step 2

You must have the domain transfer password. Many registrars will refer to this as the “auth info”, or”epp” password which you would have received when you originally ordered the domain name.
